My brother told me a joke and I laughed to tears.
He told me the same joke again and I laughed, but not as hard.
He kept repeating the joke and I stopped laughing.
He said, “If you can’t laugh at the same joke over and over again,
why do you keep crying over people who hurt you over and over
again?” – unknown

I’m not sure of the author and, admittedly, it’s not as upbeat as I normally like, but this quote hit me kinda hard. We are all so quick to dismiss that which makes us feel good while refusing to remove the power of that which makes us sad. In reality, all emotions are important expression of the infinite IS, but putting too much import on one over the other can cause internal conflict.
